(Note: I know, this relates to the Xbox 360, but I figured the issue itself was more relative to hardware. I apologize if this is in the incorrect forum.)

Well, I'm flashing my 360 with this tutorial, and it requires me to find the port for my SATA input.

How do I do that?

I checked under device manager, and I can't find a port (and I'm also not positive which device I'm looking at).

Any help appreciated. Thanks

You have a benq drive?

By sata port they mean where the cable plugs in to the motherboard or pci sata card.

Does your motherboard use sata drives or IDE?

That shouldn't be an issue.. but your motherboard chipset sata things may not be suitable for flashing. If you need a via chipset then buy one off ebay.. I bought one that came from China within 7 days for £8.46 all in.. NOT HONG KONG!!.. you will never see your goods...

Read more.. look at more guides. or YOU WILL BRICK YOUR 360 IN AN UNRECOVERABLE WAY... you have been warned.

Steps you need to take first...

Confirm you have a benq drive.. There is more than one version apparently and the process may be different.

Learn how to build and boot a dos machine (how I do it.. small ide hdd with dos and the required tools only)

Get all the right tools for the job.

Learn how to make a dump of your firmware safely.

Learn how to patch the firmware with the extracted key.

Learn how to flash from the command line reliably every time.

It's not that hard to do if you read and understand.. Took me 30 minutes to learn and do from scratch with 2 updated trashed dash (E66) 360's after buying the via pci-sata card.

I already know all this..

Yes, I know I have BenQ, and I've got an nForce Sata chipset which I hear works fine.

I'm just trying to find the PORT of the Sata input.

I'm being very careful, following step-by-step, and it says

Before you go any further, write down the port number for the first port of your Sata card, it will be the first port number in your device manager for it.

And I can't seem to find where the port is in the device manager (or what the input is called in there, for that matter).

Thanks
