Hi. I have been using dvd fab platnum to burn my ps2 games and they have been copying but i cant play them in my play station. I have heard people say that you have to get a device that hooks to the ps2 but i have also heard people say that you don't have to have it if you have certain copying software. What is true and what do i have to do?

You need a chip or a boot disk.. or a very expensive heap of hdd hardware.. People who say "you just need to burn them in a special way" are talking a load of crap. There is data printed to a region of the original game disks which you can't duplicate with a burned disk.. It contains the playstation type identifier and sles number.... and a blank for burning has the disk type printed there so the burner knows it's a blank burnable disk. The ps2 can tell if a disk is real or not by reading that identifier.. a dvd-r will say just that.. dvd-r and as that's printed there at manufacture time it can't be changed... hehehehe.. the secret of the ps2 media check revealed.

Chips modify the media check by always returning an "ok" signal to the hardware regardless of what is returned from the disk.... and boot disks interrupt the booting process after the check has been passed... They MUST be a printed disk... swapmagic is actually Crazy Taxi which has a big toc value.
