Hello all, my comp keeps freezing and i'm pretty sure its the temp of the motherboard and cpu, at the moment i only have 2 small fans, 1 on the side that blows air inot the comp and 1 fan on the back that blows air out of the comp, the big fan on the front broke, so, what i'm looking for is a big fan for the front, a heatsink for the cpu and a cooling device for the cpu, and anything else you can recomend for keeping the comp nice and cold.

If your cpu is not overclocked and all internal fans including the power supply are free of crappy build up, then all you need is the standard set up that you probably already have. Your pc can cope very well without that one fan working as you mentioned.
What have you done to determine that the mobo or cpu are to blame?
Are they (heat sinks) very hot to the touch for instance? Have you recently removed a heat sink to clean it/them?

yes everything is very clean, the reason i think it is the mobo and cpu is i currently have speedfan 4.34 and that has said its that the temp is very high, also i have just wiped everything using wipe drive pro and re-installed everything and it still freezing, i only have a small heatsink on the cpu which is allways hot and the grey paste (cant remember what it's called) on the cpu is nearly gone, at this precise moment, the comp has been on for about 10mins and the mobo is 60c and cpu is 40c.

shamoo, are those 2 temps in reverse as cpu temp is usually higher then mobo temp? what is the make & model# of the computer or motherboard to see what cpu socket you have as sounds like a socket 370 or socket 462 being you have a small heatsink for cpu?

the mobo is a ASROCK P4VM890 m/b socket 478, i'm not sure if the temp is in reverse, it displayed it as temp1 temp2, when i minimize it it just displays (in the bottom right hand corner) 1 temp which i thought would be the pcu?

Thats correct, its a small one that sits on top of the cpu, also just to add if it helps, that sometimes i hear 3 beeps coming fom the computer, not the speakers but from inside the computer, not 100% sure of what componant it's coming form but shortly after the comp will freeze?
