Replaced DVD Writer still not working in PC, HELP NEEDED

Hi, i had a problem with my Samsung dvd re-writer not being able to do a windows repair or an internet explorer repair becausae it could not copy certain files from the windows cd, i tried two genuine cd's by the way.

I had it sent back to Samsung who sent back a new dvd re-writer, (a refurbished one) but it too can not copy the files from the windows install cd, i've tried two other dvd drives and both can do a windows repair and copy the files in question with no problems.

There does not seem to be any conflicts, any advice would be appreciated or can it just be it's just not compatible with my motherboard.
