Hot Shots Tennis problem

I have an infinity 1.93 chip installed, and backed up my Hot Shots Tennis game, but when it boots up, it freezes on the Press Start Game screen, and the screen just flashes,,, the problem is the same thing happens with the original..it loads and then at the Press Start, the game freezes and the screen just flashes,,, i've tried 3 different discs,,, can the mod chip make this happen,,, any help would be greatly appreciated
