How can i make my ps2 not make any rings on the disk i play?
Just last night i burnt a new game and it worked. I did what i usually do. Used the same brand of disk, the same speed, and at the same pc that i used to burn 40 other backups. While the game that i burn worked last night, this morning it didnt and got stuck at the loading screen just after asking for the memory card. When i took the disk out i notice that there was a ring on the underside of the disk. Like the lens was scracthing it. I cautiosly tried another backup game and it worked and No rings. Then just now my brother tried to play an old game we had, it didnt work and theres a ring on it aswell. The difference is its not a backup and that disk is kind of dirty.
I dont want to lose anymore game because this. The games that have a ring on it now cant even be played in an emulator and hangs on the same part.
Any idea what could be causing this and how i can prevent it?
Hello i have the same problem. Mine is V12 PS2 (Slim). If the rings is on the further layer, that it's near the dics edge, then we have the same problem. The lens do not make those scratch but the DATA CABLE. If you try move the lens back and forth you can notice that the cable err. how shoud i say it, bend or curl up. And the curl form, I believe, is the cause of the scratch. For me, i think i gonna go into hdd (HDCOMBO) maybe. Hope this help.
Thanks for the reply but I dont think its that. I tried a some more games and most of them work without getting ring scratches. Unfortunately my FFX-2 is unplayable now. And SOTC is still playable yet it got ringed but i dont how long it will last if i try to play it some more.
