Hi, after days of being bugged to download the new Vuze, i did then hit a problem. after months... well, years actually, of using Azures/Vuze flawlessly and fast.
I downloaded Vuze 4.0 and instantly got the problem of no no connection. when running the Nat / Firewall Test, i am greeted by a box in the corner telling me that, "WARNING, Binding server socket failed as no compatible addresses are available, please check your bind-to-IP-settings." and also the common message in the test window of " NAT Error - Connect attempt to (Numbers here) (your computer) timed out after 20 seconds. This means your port is probably closed."
Now i have looked around and can find lots of people with the same problem but not like mine. because when i turn both my Kaspersky 2009 firewall and Windows Firewall off, Vuze will work for me, fast, flawlessly and without problem. now i am not exactly amazing with computers but i do ok configuring the firewall. i did let the program through on windows and kaspersky but without luck. i must be not doing it right. any help would be much appreciated.
According to a thread at the Vuze forums, this will resolve that error:
Set Tools>Options>Mode to Advanced
At Tools>Options>Connection (expand)>Advanced Network Settings change "Bind to local port" from 0 to 1.

2 worked for me>
OK If anyone is still having problems with this, I think I figured It Out. In Vista or Windows 7 (Im using Windows 7)
First forward the ports for your particular router (I used port 56748).
Go to Start/Control Panel/System and Security/Windows Firewall/Advanced Settings.
Click on Inbound Rules and Delete any azureus ruls that may be there. Now go to Outbound Rules and Delete any instances of Azureus.
Now back to Inbound Rules and Add a New Rule : chose=Port chose=TCP Port=Specific port "Your Forwarded Port (56748 for me)" chose=Allow Connection Chose=Domain+Private+Public Name=Azureus1 Click Finish
Now Add another inbound rule this time for UDP : Chose=Port chose=UDP chose=Specific port "Whatever you forwarded in the router(56748 for me)" chose=Allow Connection chose=Domain+Private+Public Name=Azureus2 Click Finish
Now do the same thing for Outbound ports, create one rule for TCP and One for UDP.
Alright now in Azureus (Make sure your using advanced settings" go to Tools/Options/Connection/Advanced Network Settings
Under "Bind to local IP address or interface" Type in Your computers IP Address. mine is 192.168.1.101 if you dont know i,t type ipconfig in start/run prompt.
Ok finaly Under "Bind to local port" Type in the port you forwarded earlier (56748 for me).
