CECT A88 cant connect to USB PC

ok i bought a usb cable from ebay to connect my cect a88 to my pc but it says USB Device not recognized? i dont know what the problem is i got either windows vista 64bit and xp 32bit, is it my OS or my phone needs driver or software? PLEASE HELP!!!
