xbox eeprom problem/hdd locking problem

i have a v1.0 xbox that will not load any of my hdd that i have (12 of them) and it comes up with the service now message with no number and in diff languages. so far i have replaced the eeprom from another mobo and it does the same thing. so i figured i would just mod it and see what happens. well its modded with a non original xbox hdd and loads fine and all. the only problem im havin now is that i cannot lock or unlock the drive. i have tried config magic and havent really messed with it too much but still cant get it to lock the drive. as with the other hdd when i use slayers 2.7 non of the stock hdds will show any space on any of the partitions. it cannot unlock the drives. anyone with help or advice pls let me no
