Adobe encore error, unkonown file format

I authored a dvd in Adobe encore, after I build the dvd(build dvd folder or build dvd disc) and burn the files on a dvd my standalone dvd player rejects the dics, if I try to play the files in power dvd (from my (by selecting the video.ifo file from my harddrive) I get the error :8903000 unknown file format however if I select the *.vob file power dvd plays all the movies.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong???
