first can i install xp on a comp already running vista?
can i have both vista and xp on on comp on a single hard drive?
can i install 32 bit xp on a comp that has vista running 64 bit?

Absolutely, I believe. Since both system are going to be in isolation of each other, their bits will not affect each other.

Absolutely. You need to have a 64 bit CPU to be able to install 64 bit operating systems, as well as 32 bit operating system.

Do you know if your CPU supports 64 bit? Here are some examples:
AMD Athlon 64, Opteron or EMT-64 enabled Intel Pentium 4/D/EE

so if i have a comp runninard driveg vista 64 bit can i install on the same hard drive xp running at 32 bit? is this possible??

ok that sound good but ultimate what im trying to do is to install xp using my recovery xp of my old laptop ( maybe using a xp install cd that i found somewhere)- other option, and install it on my new laptop that has a preinstall version of vista. can this be done
having both os on one single hardrive???
