I recently made a purchase from EVGA on a Sunday afternoon, and then five minutes later realized that it was not what I wanted so I looked for a cancellation option, and there was none to be found. I quickly searched the site for a few minutes to try and find a method of canceling the sale, but again no information was clearly posted that pointed to a method to cancel. I then immediately emailed EVGA's support sales team after only minutes had passed, and then an hour or so later I received a message assuring me that my order would be canceled.

Normally that would be enough from reputable companies to assure someone that their order had indeed been canceled, but 24 hours came and went, and still no refund. Then I received a message asking me to provide them with order information, the same information that I had already sent the day before so that the could have my order cancelled. So for a second time I sent the same information, and then later that day I received another email from them warning me that because the following day was Nov 4th, election day that the item might be sent on the following day since some may not be at work. Let's see, they have people at work to pack and prepare a shipment, but there will be no one to click a couple of choices in a computer?

Then another day passed and still no information, no cancellation, no tracking number, no nothing, but in the account I set up it was tagged as order complete. I then looked and there was a shipping number indicating that the item had been shipped. Now this wasn't an expensive item but I think that it clearly shows that they are a ripoff company that has no interest in their clients. There are probably other such sites selling PC parts out there, and perhaps we should all start listing them so that others don't have to go through what I just had to go through. If you have a story about EVGA or other sites that use underhanded business practices then list them here. I will of course never again purchase another EVGA product from anyone.

As it happens I stopped recommending EVGA products a while back due to bad QC on their graphics products, and pretty poor motherboard layouts. XFX and BFG never seem problematic companies.

Never tried their motherboards. I only purchased inexpensive Nvidia cards used for folding, but I won't touch anything by them ever again.

If we should know of other companies that are less than honorable to deal with we should list them too.

A universal 'bad buys' thread, yeah, I highly support that idea.
