Ok lets start with my details I have a PS2 slim Model SCPH-7500 which leads me to my first question
1)What version do I have?
Next I bought Swap Magic 3.6 and the DvD disk loads fine but when I try to load the cd disk I get this error that says Please insert a PS or PS2 format disk. Any ideas on why its now loading? Which leads me to my next question
2)Can some one tell me how to move Swap Magic on to my memory card. Please understand I dont know what Im doing so a detailed guide will be needed.
Ok my next question is
3)If you have a back up ps1 game can you put it on a dvd or does it have to be burned to a cd?
4)This is a 2 part question, what is the proper way to burn a back up
game, first if I want to make a back up game of a game I already have and second how do I burn a game I downloaded?

any and all help will be great =)

why doesn't the swapmagic cd load?.. bad disk or bad laser.. one or the other. Not many ps2 cd games anyway.... and swapmagic doesn't boot ps1 games, for that you need a proper ps1 boot disk..

you didn't answer my point or your own.. Does the ps2 play any cd's? the laser diodes for cd and dvd are totally separate devices. Just because it will read a dvd does not mean the cd part of the laser assembly is working. It is common for one half of a laser assembly to stop working while the other part is fine. Usually the slimline ps2 lasers just go out altogether..

Tell you what.. post it to me and I will "repair" it with my special brick I keep for the purpose :)
