SO... A couple weeks ago, I was trying to softmod my Xbox...I know that hotswapping isn't the best choice, but I cracked open the xbox and pc... And, I did it wrong. I read a guide that wasn't so through, and messed up, in total confusion about the secondary master and and the slave ribbons. So, thinking I was almighty, and that nothing can go wrong ( I had been reading up on this for about a month before doing it), I connected the primary master running from the motherboard into the hard drive (with the secondary master [which ran to the CD writing drive] and the slave [Running from writing drive to DVDrom drive], and something happened... Or rather, nothing happened. I tried several times, and then I gave up, and put the IDE cables back where they originally were. So, I boot up the computer... But it wouldn't boot. I got angry, and decided to disconnect the dvd-rom and cd writing drives... And the computer boots... Every time I try to connect the cables, the computer won't start. It will give me an error message the says something like "Hard drive not found, enter boot disk." I'm not sure that's exactly what it said, tomorrow i'll check it out... So, does anyone know how to help? Sorry if I'm a bit of a noob with the computer hardware... I'll gladly provide any more info if you guys need it.
BTW, the xbox is fine... So are both the hard drives
