Appologies for my lack of knowledge about the subject, as these are fairly nooby questions

What type of media do you need to burn ps2 backups, Memorex, verbatim?
Can you burn the CD games onto DVDs

Can you use the slide tool without the swap magic disc?
If so, when do u swap the games?

I searched around the forums but i could never get a straight answer.

Thanks
Mike

1. Forget about Memorex. Stick with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. Make sure their max speed is 8X and burn the .isos with ImgBurn at 4X speed.

2. You can convert CD games into DVD games. There is a tutorial floating around. Not all games will work with this method.

3. I'm not sure what you are asking.

thanks for the previous answers

for my last question i am asking if you need the swap magic disc itself. I think i read somewhere that to swap the game you don't need the swap magic disc.

It said something like: you have to use a original ps2 disc, and pull out the drive and swap to your backup during the playstation 2 logo.

Is this correct or is my memory just playin tricks on me? xD

As the original ps2 disk never stops spinning once it's in the drive it's not a good idea to drag the drive out with the disk spinning... Playing a disk does it no damage (where do retards get the idea that a laser designed to read a disk can possibly damage it?).. but dropping a spinning disk on the tray certainly will. You also run a risk of trashing the laser and worse (mechacon crash) with the "original for copy" pointless swap trick)

swapmagic has a large toc file so it works with most games (It's crazy taxi if you know how to find these things out) and drops the ps2 into "wait" mode so you can swap the disk safely with no risk to the disk or the laser.

Ah so essentially, all the swap magic disc does is stop the disc from spinning?
