I am trying to rip all of my DVDs to a 2 terabyte external hard drive. Is there a software program available that will create a library/playlist that will help me manage all of the ripped files. I am planning on building a new computer and connecting it directly to an external input on my tv. I am looking for a program that will allow me to browse a playlist and play the movie folders without having to load all of the VOB files. Any recommendations on necessary upgrades when I build the computer would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.

Rip the videos to ISO files and use VLC to play them. As far as keeping track of them, Ant Movie Catalog is my choice. You could probably even write a small script to launch VLC from witin the catalog program.
