this forum helped me with my dvd2one vs. DVDShrink question. My next question deals converting 8mm to dvd. A friend at work can read in my tapes with a philips unit that has analog and firewire inputs BUT I only have a Dazzle device to capture the video and audio.

Which forum should I request help about editing this data and then converting it to output I can use NERO to make a DVD?

There is a forum here called capturing video from analogue sources i believe. To lazy to look for it, but go to the main forum and its there somewhere.
