Hi my parents computer has a problem with "Services and Controller Application wants to accept connections from the internet.Application SERVICES.EXE Source IP 203.0.178.191" Once this pops up they can't use the internet till they hit deny on their ZoneAlarm Alert, and it continually pops up as a zone alarm alert.
They are running Windows 2000, use AVG as their antivirus and Zone Alarm as their firewall. Since this has occurred I have installed and run the following (and I enabled hidden files).
SuperAntiSpyware - came back clean
Lavasoft Adaware - came back clean (just 2 tracking cookies)
Search and Destroy - Came back clean
Malwarebytes - came back clean
AVG Virus Scan - Came back clean
The problem still persists. I have tried several online virus scan (Trend Housecall & Panda) however they are on dial up and after 8 hours of working on their computer on the weekend I gave up LOL.
As soon as they connect up with there dial up modem the following appears in the hijack this log, despite repeatedly deleting it from there.
Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 10:50:59, on 2008-11-12
Platform: Windows 2000 SP4 (WinNT 5.00.2195)
MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106)
Boot mode: Normal
I hope someone can help me out, and save me from having to keep driving up to my parents & save fuel :-) I really am not that good at computers and have done everything I can think of.
Thanks
Laura
Life is but a dream; you dont feel any pain unless you want to or you fall off the bed. Success is relative; the more success the more relatives.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kickboxing. To be or not to be; thats a dumb question.
That's great then. They have been with iinet for over 5 years and this has only started in the last two weeks so I thought it was something more sinister. All that quality time with my parents for nothing LOL.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look and respond.
