Don't buy this programme as their support is horrofic. It did not install with Vista and eventually they agreed this and came up with an update. The whole experience was terrible; they refused to refund the cost and even now they are sending me e-mails which are identical to emails sent 2 weeks ago.
I sent letters to their European and US offices, but no one answers and I am now out of pocket to the tune of $59.
The worst experience I have ever had with any and I mean any software manufacturer
I'm all for changes and updates, but Nero 9 still has tons of bugs, I've tried it and so far they've added tons of useless junks on it and I can't even believe that its file is freaken huge. So for now I'm back to the latest of Nero 8.3.6.0 til Nero 9 is fixed and stable.

I ran the trial version of Nero 9 in XP Pro SP3 and quickly realized that there had been virtually no change from version 8 in some of the tools, most importantly to me Nero Vision, Nero Express, and Nero Showtime. Nero Vision remains the most crippled DVDauthoring tool in the market of serious contenders. In fact Nero Showtime has gotten even worse, loading much slower and sometimes not at all for MPG movies larger than 2 GB.
I stayed with version 8 for the time being, but it's no match for Sony Vegas and DVD Architect Pro, even as lackluster as those two turkeys are. As the changeover to Blu-Ray progresses, I see no Nero in my future.
If you haven't already seen this, you soon will, so here's an icebreaker: today I got an email from Nero offering Nero 9, Nero Moveit, Mediahome, even Linux3 in a 2-for-1 sale.
That's right, buy 1, get 1 free. That means that people who want 2 copies for whatever insane reason are getting it for half the price you did.

I've been using nero since back in the days of nero5.5 and yes, the subsequent versions had been beset by bugs and what not.
Now i use Nero-9.0.9.4d_update.exe and i have to say i've been pretty impressed with it so far. All the programs i've tried (nero recode, nero wave editor, nero soundtrax, nero vision and the burning rom) have worked flawlessly.
In My Humble Opinion, i think Nero-9.0.9.4d is the best yet of all the versions & updates.
Sadly it's huge, but then again, hard drives have also gotten huger and RAMs are upgradable.
It also has some unnecessary crap attached to it and Nero Showtime has gotten slower but hey, who needs Nero Showtime when there are loads of specalized programs out there that plays video files.
And like '7thsinger' said, i didn't like nero 8 either and i too was stuck on nero 7 for so long, but, me, i'm all for updates and changes too and i think nero 9.0.9.4d is a huge improvement on nero 8.
