Greek character problem in VirtualDub

I cant seem to find the answer anywhere. Virtualdub puts the subtitles fine on the movie, but whether i play the movie on a dvd player or on my laptop, the characters dont show up, just a bunch of letters with no meaning. Anyone have any suggestions please? Thank you.

Are you selecting the correct 'Styles' in TextSub?
