the other thread wouldn't let me post, so here i go. i had the timeout after 20 seconds problem saying my port was probably closed and only got a yellow smiley face. it turned out my firewall was on and turning off fixed it. that may help some of you.

my boyfriend helped me learn the ip adress thing real easy so i wanted to share. find out your ip adress, then go to it on the web, an admin box should pop up and in the pass word box the default password will be password or admin. then once you get to the linksys area, choose the gaming and applications, in there it should automatically bring up port forwarding

in there, it should say torrent in the first box, the next box should have 55000 ( i set mine to 50000) next box should say 62000 and next should be both or TCP/UDP. after that, make sure the next box has your ip adress in it. and most importan, make sure the last little box you can check is checked which is the enable box.

also, make sure DMZ is you ip address.

i mainly posted this for people who may not know the firewall could be the problem. all that time and worry for something as easy as turning off the firewall. and i owe it all to my super smart, awsome computer savvy boyfriend. i wish i was as smart about computers as him. maybe someday...

I love my boyfriend!!!
