1 GB Geforce 8500 vs 512 MB Geforce 9400?

Hey guys,
I was just wondering, what would be a better graphics card for my HP Pavillion a6430f, with AMD Phenom Triple Core, 3 GB of RAM and 1.3 GB of VRAM (Nvidia Geforce 6150SE/nForce 430 integrated)

The integrated runs games like Guitar Hero 3 and Gears of War pretty choppy, but pretty decent for an integrated graphics card, but i'm looking for true HD gaming, so i pose the question:

Would a 1 GB GDDR2 Geforce 8500 perform better than a 512 MB Geforce 9400?

I am battling between these two and would like somebody with experience to tell me which would be better, since i only have one PCI-E slot.
