i am a newbie, and only recently have decided to try converting my 1000 vhs tapes to dvd, i am assuming they have a protection, as the first i tried to copy walt disney tapes to other tapes, and had a loss of colour intermittently throughout the copy, i have possibly missed the train, but any information on progammes would be most appreciated

Not really sure mate, but i think videos were Macro protected so you want a Macro remover, not sure if Anydvd will remove it from an external source (if you have video connected to computer) other than that do a search on google, i'm sure i seen a cable for sale in Aldi a few weeks back.

just do a google search for a Video Stabilizer it goes between your vhs player and your dvd player. Should find in the 18 to 20 dollar range. It will remove the protection and computer or dvd player will see as unprotected.
