Previously was able to rip my own copyright protected CD as a back up but now that need to burn a few new music CD I am unable to find the right program in my PC. Thought that Nero and Any DVD was able to but so far have had no luck with it, would appreciate any recommendation on any software that is available.

Thanks

I believe there are many problems using WMP including it putting DRMs on your music. Older versions didn't if you indicated not to do it. You can DL the last version that dosen't force DRMs but why would you want to use that piece of junk?

I would recommend EAC as the best free option. I have not used it but it has all the must haves. I use the other paid for favorite powerAmp converter. It is 25 UDS per year. It is the premioum version. I like it because it has a highend tag database. Most of what I rip is not in Freedb. Almost everything I have ripped that actually had album data on the CD was found. It has all the most expensive encoders as well.

Some of the newer protected CDs will be a problem. For them you might need to use EAC audio capture mode. Any DVD used to work on the older copy protected stuff. I haven't used it anytime rescently.

You just play the CD and capture the audio. That is the only way to digitise vinyl. It actually works well but is a pain because it is extra steps.

EAC is shareware and that is what I recommended. I expect that eventually that will be a paid for app. I just felt the need to explain why I recommended something I had not used. This is probably the last year I will use PA after that I will use EAC. I would get it while it is still free.

I can get to the site I don't have time to test all the different options. Maybe they only have a paired down ripper for free.
