ok I just bought me a new ps2 slim and I am going to do the tissue mod since I really don't have the money for a mod chip. I had swap magic v3.6 but I let my friend borrow it and he lost the dvd disk but he found the cd disk and I know you can't use a burned copy of swap magic. My question is (and I probably already know the answer) can I use the cd disk to boot a burned copy of the dvd disk? I am just asking before I buy a new copy of swap magic.

Yes you actually can use a burned copy of Swap Magic using the Original SM CD

But its a pain as you would always be doing the TOC refresh thing once the Burned copy of Swap Magic is in.

Refreshing the TOC size:
1. Insert a Swap Magic Disc in your PS2 (use CD or DVD version#)
2. When the title screen appears (you will see 2 options, Load Program and Video Mode on
the screen), press the ?Eject? button on the PS2 to eject the Swap Magic and put a game
disc with larger TOC size to refresh the TOC size.
3. After the TOC refresh is done, you can start to use the flip top cover or slide-tool** to swap
the discs with your import/backup.
4. Press X on the joy pad and the game will start

Better yet, you could use your SM CD to install fmcb and use ESR.ELF to play backups.
Follow this tutorial exactly, making sure to read everything.

once installed you could get swapmagic.elf(dvd version) and copy to memory card with ulaunch
load swapmagic.elf with a high toc original game and swap as you would before
after fmcb install swap magic discs are no longer needed

So your saying you can get uLe running, but you can't scroll at all in it, or you just can't select Mass/

Do you have your usb device formatted as FAT32

Also try putting the USB drive in after uLaunch is loaded.
Mine is picky that way sometimes.
