ds firecard problem

i have just bought 10 ds firecards the card's themselves work great, but 7 of the slot 2 cards will not work the card boots straight up they dont go to the usb mode?

has anyone else had this problem? is it fixable. its just the seller said it will take a month to send replacements. btw dont buy cards from dealextreme.
