Hi all,

any help would be much appreciated, just bought the digivox-t mmds for chorus in laois (had chorus before about 3 years ago).

My aerials in one of those integrated aerial with downconverter, i ran a cable from this to the power supply(down converter side) and then a cable from the (tv out side of power supply) to the antenna on digivox and then a scart connection to the TV.

first thing i did was checked the firware - its said 403.20000T (1 jan 2007) - then i enabled the key emu to on.

i stuck the aerial out my window on the third floor (my neigbour is two storey and aerial roughly same height) pointed it in the same direction 0% signal. Tried pointing it V facing upward no luck, then H pointing upwards.

Moved the aerial around absolutely no signal.

Obviously i am missing a step, surely i should receive a couple of percentages by moving around.

In settings antenna is set to on.

Any help would be much appreciated. (neigbours pointing same direction roughly same height. I also someone say that if i connect power tv out directly to tv then i should get analog signal - do you do auto scan and move aerial around to find this.

Hi,
What frequency are you looking at ?

The aerial you are using does not convert the frequency to the standard Choru$ freq range.
It offsets it by +440MHz so you cannot do an automatic scan.
You have to do a manual scan.I suggest you manual scan at 778Mhz then scan each side of this freq at 8Mhz intervals.You should pick up approx 86 chanels.

The standard choru$ transponders are at 226 - 412 Mhz at 8Mhz intervals.
For your aerial you need to look at 666 - 852 Mhz every 8Mhz.

Hi Glog,

sorry meant to mention was trying at 690000 and then tried 698000 but did not try many others.

is their any way of doing a signal test without having to go from 690 to 850 without jumping in leaps of 8 - it takes forever and a day.

can i just go 690(move up in jumps of 8) and then move aerial around until it picks something up, without having to actually scan all the time.

If you go into manual scan and input say 778000 Hz then the signal/quality bar along the bottom is then live.You can adjust the positioning of the aerial and the corresponding +/- of signal is graphically displayed.

I believe there is a transponder at the freq i mention above, regardless if you are aimed at a Vertival or Horiz. transmitter, so wither way you should be able to get a signal /quality strength.

Once you have adjusted your aerial to get the strongest signal and secured it in that position you can then proceed to scan all the freqs at 8Mhz intervals to get all channels.

mgb17 - What do you mean it doesn't match ?

As i said the range is 666 - 852 MHz at 8 MHz intervals.

You have given the first 4 number of the series yourself.If you continue to add 8 you will find 778 MHz is a valid frequency.
Please explain your comment.

Hi Guys,

still trying, the signal is still 0% - the thing is if i connect the the cable direct to my TV i can pick up some signal for UTV and a couple more.

Is this good or bad. The TV out on the power supply is it correct i connect this to the digivox receiver.

is my software version correct.

really at a loss.

Everything sounds correct.The only thing i can suggest is that you check your connections and make sure you are connecting aerial to correct socket on back of Digibox.Should be going into top left (from back) 'Ant' socket (RF connector)

Other than that if you know anyone with MMDS then swap in some of your equipment to determine if you have bad equipment.Could be bad Downconverter or powersupply.
