Hi, I'm new to this Forum and I figured by looking at some of the other posts that somebody here could probably help me out. Here is the problem.

I had a couple friends send me some Video_TS files of some movies that I wanted to burn. I am using a Macbook Pro (10.4.11) and mostly Toast for burning but I have also tried using the finder and the same problem happens. Anyway, basically, I have tried 3 different brands of media, TDK, Maxwell (Which my drive won't even try to burn now) and Sony. Some were -R some were DVD-DL and some were +R. No matter what the brand, or the software, the DVD will pop out with no error messages. When I play the DVD in my Macbook, it works perfectly fine. But when I go to play it in my Xbox 360, or my Standalone, or even my 2002 Dell, the DVD's all seem to freeze at some point in between the 1st and 2nd chapters. I have tried with 3-5 different movies now. I have no clue how they ripped or converted these files, but the files themselves work fine on any computer. (Even the dell)

If the DVD's have menu's with chapter selection and I go to chapter 3 or 4, the movie works fine all the way through.
I have successfully burned Audio CD's with Toast and Itunes so I don't believe it's the burner, although I could be wrong.

Can anybody give me some idea as to what is going on here? LoL. Thanks a lot in advance.

Generally, just because you can burn CDs it doesn't mean the DVD burner is still good. When it burns DVDs, it uses a different laser.

How fast do you burn? Do you multi task?
Is your firmware up-to-date? If your drive does not have a proper firmware to write on the specific discs, it will yield poor burns or just not burn at all.
All the discs that you have tried could be low quality media/or just not compatible with your burner. Sony are good discs if made in Taiwan, but might just not fit your burner.
I'd try some Verbatim.

Piss me off, and I Will ignore You!

Okay. I usually set Toast to burn at 4x however if I sit and watch it, it does end up going up to 6x for some reason. From what I know, the Firmware seems to be up to date. (If you know another way to check besides clicking the Software Update button, that would be helpful) I try not to multi-task and if I do, it's just me opening Firefox and checking some E-mail...Nothing big. So if I get some Verbatim's and this still happens, any other ideas? Thanks a lot for helping me out by the way.
