Hi guys, have not had to do this often hence newbie question/problem.
I have a genuine starview 2
I tried to update it to the latest firmware using this file: thebox_H20071130_802E_api
all downloaded well, but when box reboots it just says "on" no picture or anything, I've tried it a few times now.
I was stupid enough to not check what versions was already on there, but form what i can remember it was the update from july 2007, if that helps.
What am i doing wrong? oh and i'm using a null modem cable.
Help
thanks in advance

kaled, you are using the starview 3 firmware.
click on eamos library under my sig & go to "The B0x" folder. Select firmware, & the latest uk fix is there for the SV2 in the uk.

Hi Noelyf,
Thanks for your help, but thats exactly what i've done, i've downloaded the .rar file extracted it (http://www.4shared.com/file/74338140/ce5e20dd/UK_SV2_The_Box_Fix_Pack_031208.html).
The only thing i did not do is flash it with the 4.54 first, i'll try that tonight!
So i need to flash with 1.54 and logo then flash with the newest firmware which for my box is "thebox_H20071130_802E_api.bin"
Am I right?

sorry I did put this on the wrong thread (st3)
I downloaded the earlier fix?s and lost the lot, box showing only
four dashes
I have now loaded V4.51, which you needed to flash to have
V4.54 installed then I then flash the logo file with the
background data file ticked,
I finished with the new 802 file, after all that all I get is
the ON KEY.
Any idea?s chaps
Regards vic
Put the 4.51 back on and make sure that it has flashed and the firmware is back on, then do the following
First flash thebox_454eE_api.bin to your box with the new GTRom.4.3
(select as App file only)
Then flash thebox_logobg.bin to your box using the new GTRom.4.3
(select Background Data File)
Then flash with the 802 BIN FILE using the same loader.
If by any chance you cannot get the 4.51 firmware flashed back on, then go to the link marked Starview 2nd line at the bottom of my post and follow the Bad Flash Guide, it may take a few attempts but it will eventually kick in.
Done all this until 0230 this morning no joy
started again now loaded 4.51 eE.api working, now loading 4.54 eE.api
.
regards vic vickhead, have you downloaded the full service pack, and read the instruction with it, and if you are now at the stage - with the 4.51 on the box - follow instructions carefully making sure that you do check the APPROPRIATE box for each file, you should be fine. And you are in a Starview 3 The Box Super thread, you would be better sticking to a Starview 2 The Box thread.
thanks for info going st2 after this, open up the box_logobg bin file but only to see 4,54 fireware+logo file\box logo file\the box_logobg.bin. is this right and should this be downloaded in background date file?
regards vic see you on st2

update,
so now box restarts after flashing with 4.51, but after flashing with 4.54 just say "on" after flashing with logo file still says "on".
Even if i flash then with new firmware still says "on"
it seems only after flashing with 4.51 does it work properly.
Any ideas or help much appreciated

Have flashed 2 boxes with new fix and both boxes have showed "ON" but once you do a MENU>INSTALLATION>AUTOMATIC SCAN the boxes burst into life.
Hopefully yours will do the same.

i didn't realise the box will work, as in i didn't think the menu function will load.
I flashed it with 4.51 last night and manually inputted codes, i'll flash again today with 4.54 and the new firmware.
Thanks, i never did try to press the menu button to be honest. Thanks will let you know how it goes.

hi there,i have a similar issue as above...
i have uploaded the new fix,and it has all flashed correctly,i get a chanel for about 4 seconds then the box keeps re-booting over and over again!
i have done all the stuff in the 1570 menu,i have also tried to reset to factory settings and reflashed the new fix,but STILl the box keeps rebooting after i do this.
the box i have is the "the box super" i THINk its a "starview 3" box,and im using GTROM v8.02e fix,i know how to do the flashing as i fixed a few starview 2 boxes today, done a few dboxes, eurovox, but this is the first "starview 3 the box super"i have done and cant find anyone else with a similar fault.
to sumerise.
the "the box super" keeps rebooting after the new GTROM v8.02e fix has been uploaded to the box.
tried every thing i can think of,im sure im using teh correct fix for this box.
anyone help me please?

vic Can only say what I did-
Went to a free to air channel
Put Box in standby.
Got loader 4.03
If version 4.51 in box flash with 4.54 first.
And also load logobg file selecting background data file on loader for this file.
Then load new fix 8.02.
If you already have 4.54 already in your box, just flash the new fix straight to box,
Menu/parental control/info 2004/emu ON/go to nagravision/press OK/
scroll along to provider/press OK/EXIT/press SELECT DEFAULT KEY/EXIT all the way out and then went s**tanta and the box tried to update 3 or 4 times before it got the keys.
Good luck!

If you are in the uk, there is no new clone firmware out for the SV1.
