I have a Nero disc with Nero vision Express 2.0 on it. Came with a liteon 8x dvd burner.

Just bought an ASUS 20x dvd burner that came with Nero 8 Essentials with it.

I opened Nero vision and it says I only have 30 days to use it. Did I receive software for this burner or a trial package.

If true, nero should be sued for misreprentation of their product by not telling it is a trial version.

I bought the new burner just to upgrade my nero software.

Whats the deal with Essentials brand of Nero.

Thanks for any suggestions on how to use this software.

Thanks

Joe

I don't know how good those burners are, but your plan to scheme Nero did not work. They don't sell the full package with hardware. An OEM,"Essential" package has limited functionality. You could've bought that for just $5, or less.

At least you have the burner...

Scheme? Sorry if you hold stock in Nero but if your place trial version software on the market it should be listed that way.

The previous 2 burners I bought came with Nero but older versions and were full functioning.

You buy a car and advertises it has a dvd player in it but you find out after buying it will quit working after 30 days and you need to pay more to get it work again?

Unless advertised, that is considered fraud.

Law school does pay off.

You're mad at me? Haha, I am glad I can help, even if just as a way for you to diffuse your anger:)! Sorry friend, don't think you're gonna win this one! However, I'd like to follow and see how your legal battle with Ahead goes!
And no, I don't hold stocks in Nero:), and I run version 7 and don't think will ever upgrade to more bloated one.

OEM versions that come with hardware are not fully functional. If you want the whole deal, they'll ask you to buy this and that plug-in.

I am sure to get through law school you had to take some math at some point.
Nero fully functionl=$70
Nero fully funtional+DVD burner= $30???

This just doesn't add up. It would, if Nero were some sort of monthly subscription plan or something. Like for example when buying a cell phone, they sell it to you for dirt cheap and shackle you with a 2 year contract or so, and rip you off with the monthly payment for your subscription plan. But after sold, Nero doesn't bring any more profit. So why in the world would they give you a full package for free? They just give you a little taste of it, maybe just enough to entice you and sucker you into buying the full version.

Maybe they had a small print, maybe not. Maybe you did not see the
"Essential", or OEM note, maybe they didn't have one. good luck fighting this battle though.

We can't win, that's why God allows for TORRENTS to exist!!! Alleluia!

I don't think they were fully functional. Maybe you mean they were not trial versions, did not have an "expiration date", but that doesn't mean they were fully functional. Fully functional would be with all the features, plug-ins and such.

You should use Nero Clean Tool and do a complete uninstall(do not use ADD/Remove programs). Then reinstall your Essentials version that just came with your new burner.
