Liteon 411s Cd-r Writing Speeds.

Ok I was making a backup of one of my ps2 cd rom games and whe I was gonna write the image file using Alcohol 120%. The lowest writing speed that I could choose was 8x. I couldn't even choose to burn at 1x or 2x. This is the first time I ever used the drive for cd-r burning and am a little confused why it won't burn at a lower speed. I did try clonecd and it gave me the option to select 1x or 2x as the writing speed. So I slected 2x writing speed, but while it was writing the image, the speed went up to 8x. I don't know whats wrong. Is it the Liteon burner that is the problem or is it the Imation cd-r's which are 1-48x compatible? The discs were on sale for $15 for a 50 pack. Maybe there defected. Anyone else have this problem?
