Odd thing after modding - Update

I just finished a modding a slim ps2 with the duo 3 ultra.

After modding, I first tried a DVD movie (original) and it worked fine. I then tried a backup PS1 game, worked fine. I then tried a backup PS2 game, "the disc cannot be read." I put in a PS2 original game, "the disc cannot be read."

I've modded quite a few units. Haven't had anything like this before. Any ideas? Thanks for your time guys.

I tried cleaning the laser lens with the old q-tip and alcohol trick. It worked like a charm. Was playing those ps2 games instantly. I let it sit in standby, went out and had a smoke. I came back, the same "the disc cannot be read message." I tried the alcohol and q-tip trick again, and it works. I let it sit it standby, and again, it still refuses to play ps2 originals or not. It still plays all other media, originals or not perfectly.

Any help would be appreciated.
