Why do you think its the video card at fault? If the PC turns on but doesn't show anything on the screen, the CPU, Motherboard, RAM or PSU could be at fault.

Thanks for the reply Sammorris, It gave up on me in the sence that ( I guess I needed to give more info sorry! ) when I try to play games;current ones (call of duty 4 and others) my screen... I dont know how to explain it but its slows down If that makes sence? if I scroll it overlaps? I really can't explain it. I figured If it all works maybe I just need a faster video card, that can support the games?.. hope this helps, and thanks for your reply.

All you should need to do to fix that is reinstall the driver. Download a new version at the ATI website.

Monitors do not need drivers, they are usually colour calibration utilities which aren't necessary for the monitor to work.

Not really, default monitor just means your monitor isn't sending EDID, the only problem with that is that you could potentially select a screen resolution that your monitor can't display. The performance issue will be caused by not having a graphics driver installed, and without a graphics driver, you certainly won't get EDID.

you need to get one of the latest video agp video cards to play COD4 without any slowdown. You don't mention the brand of video card you have, but the 128mb cards are some of the older models.

According to Intel website your board takes the older AGP type of video cards,
http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/bz/index.htm

You CPU has plenty of power to run games, but with the latest video games, the type of the video card you get will be more important. You need something midrange, a lowrange video card won't help you. Also you need to determine the power requirements of the video card.

Oh, I've just read that post. Whoops! Yes, that video card will probably be too slow to play COD4 properly. Call of Duty 4 is playable on AGP 8x graphics cards, but I'm not sure which you have. I suspect you may have something like a Radeon 9600, in which case you will definitely experience severe performance issues. You could potentially upgrade it to get better performance, assuming you have a normal size case and the Power supply isn't too weak. Is the PC a pebuilt (i.e. Gateway/Hp etc)? If it is, can you provide us with its model number?
