Came home and PC was continually restarting. Am I screwed?

Yes and hello,
I came home from work yesterday to find my PC continually restarting... The Dell screen pops up, then the black screen with the options to reboot in safemode etc., but when I let it time-out or choose an option like rebooting in safemode, it attempts to start Windows but immediately goes right back to the beggining as if I chose to reboot again... (Dell screen, safemode options screen and so on)! Pretty sure I'm dealing with a virus but how serious? Has anyone experienced anything like this? Am I screwed?
