Animation dvd w/storyboards jumping around; DVDx Angle problem?

Hi folks,

Am trying to backup my DVD collection to laptop so it can come with me on a long journey abroad (over a year). Have run across a PAL animation DVD that has the option to view storyboards alongside the movie, which it says on the back of the box is stored as an alternative angle.

Have loaded up the DVD in DVDx, selected the longest track and it shows all the chapter info. However, when I play the dvd in the DVDx viewer, it skips between the film and the storyboards. The sound seems to be messed up too. It looks like it's trying to play more than one film at the same time!

I have clicked around on the "angle" settings (damned thing claims to have 15 angles, none of them make any difference) but to no avail. I'd already done the sound normalization test before I tried to play it, and when that was running it did seem to keep skipping between two frame counts and two timestamps but it checked the sound and finished with recommended volume result so I didn't think anything of it.

Am running DVDx on Win XP with AnyDVD 6.4.9.2, encoding with Xvid.

Anyone encountered anything like this before?
