hello,

if you have a stereo file encoded at say 128kbps,

is each channel 128, (128+128=256) so the total output is 256?

or

is each channel 64, (64+64=128) so the total output is 128?

if the total output is 128, bluetooth has the potential to stream music at optimum quality (audio encoded at approximately 320kbps, stereo) and if it is 256 (bluetooth has the ability to stream half the quality. I think.

I always assumed the BR is for the file. The math works out that way. I never heard some one selling an amp 100 watt amp that was really 100 watt per channel.

I think you are going to get what you get. So why worry about it. Most car sterios only deliver the quality of 70-100 br. I still listen to music in my car. I am happy it is as good as it is but I can barely tell a CD from HD radio. Everyone likes to tell you HD is like a CD. HD radio is only 90 BR CDs are 1200 BR. Not even close.

what i meant was can bluetooth actually transfer the entire contents of a music file via a2dp or will it be limited by bluetooth's maximum transfer speed hence reducing the quality even in the slightest. and if so, how much.

i used 320 as the example because it is pretty much the maximum you can go even tho i encode at wma at 128 which is equivalent in sound quality to an mp3 at 320kbps.
