I have a nintendo DS Lite, a wireless router that will not support WEP only versions of WPA, with either TKIP or AES all my desktops and laptops are wifi, (none on ethernet not practial) WII is on wifi PS2 is on ethernet, please can you tell me how to get my Nintendo DS Lite's online with this setup. Can a Windows PC handle 2 wireless connections at the same time 1 from Nintendo DS lite to PC, other from PC to Router.

I'm not buying another router as this one was dear and the matching hardware for the PC to take it to 108Mbps.

will the Nintendo WIFI adapter solve this problem or because computers are not on Ethernet and are wireless will this fail?

Router is in lounge behind TV close to the main phone-line connection as possible all desktop are in other rooms.

what hardware EXECPT another router will help me

Thank you everyone for your help

Merry Christmas to all

Mike

You will need the Nintendo WiFi adapter or some other adapter for you PC that will act as an Access Point.

There is no way around the WEP limitations of the NDS. You have to establish an access point that will take WEP in and has a Ethernet connection on the back end.

I would think the branded dongle would be plug and play, although you may have ome range considerations. I have seen information on converting a generic Buffalo (?) brand dongle into a DS one, but just sporting for the OEM accesory is probably the way to go.

Dear Customer, thank you for your email.

Unfortunatly the DS hardware development pre-dates the WPA security protocal, so unfortunatly this cannot be used. I would recommend using a Nintendo USB wifi adaptor as only permission granted Nintendo consoles can connect to them or adjusting the router settings to use WEP security instead.

Kind regards,

off Nintendo themselves on Christmas eve.

so i guess its ok
