ok so there's all these post for mkv files to avchd. but are these steps correct to back up a blu ray film? rip to hd with anydvd hd then simple burn to a blank bd-r 25gb/50gb using imgburn with udf at 2.5? is it that simple or is there something else that needs to be done?
You don't even need to burn to image, that takes even longer than a regular rip. Just use the Rip to Harddisk feature in AnyDVDHD, then burn the two folders (BDMV and Certificate) to your BD using the UDF 2.5 file system. IMGBurn will work, I use Cyberlink, it's the software that came with my BD drive.
If it's not too much trouble, I have a question that I think might be related to this. I wish to do what he is doing but instead of just one blu-ray movie I want to back up several movies/blu-ray disks to a single disk so I don't have to bring all my movies with me when I go traveling. So how would I go about doing this?
Also, I want something besides AnyDVD HD to do the encoding/compression. I was directed to TSmuxer and several other programs on the AnyDVD forums, but if there are more options I would like to know about them. I'm working with a limited amount of technical knowledge, so the less steps involved, the better it would be for me.
