I have seen threads aboot this, but I have all the files I need in this for it to start. My sister got it for me for Christmas and had games on there for me, and we tried to figure it out (she has had one for a year so knows it should would) but it still does the loading. We even removed everything then re-downloaded the firmware, and still loading.
Can anyone help?
the main reason so many people have trouble setting up their r4ds is there are so many versions of r4ds with different versions of firmware that can make it a complete nightmare to set up and get working .
if as you say you have a r4 deluxe ( a clone of the r4ds ) then you are better of downloading the firmware for the r4 deluxe .
now before copying any of the r4 deluxe firmware to your memory card first delete all previous r4ds firmware !
now unzip the v1.20 english.zip and copy the 2 folders and 3 files to your memory card .
dont put any games on and just try it to see if it loads up .
iff fingers crossed it loads up then try putting your games on your memory card , make sure you unzip the games and they are in .nds format .
or you can try a custom firmware for the r4ds called ysmenu , it has a better compatibility for the latest games , iff you would like ysmenu for your r4ds let me know and ill send you the link .

I did that and still just the black loading screen. I did no put any of the games on there but the games I do have are .nds files.
Also from time to time when I try to get it to work it doesnt even go to the loading screen, goes to normal ds menu and says no disc inserted or whatnot
Alright, I had the same problem with mine.
What I've figured out is that you should not have the files inside a folder called english 2.0 or something along those lines. Format your SD card, and copy the contents of folder english 2.0 onto the card, do not put them in any folder, make sure they are on the top. Once that is done try it again and reply your results.
