So i just recently updated the GTA IV pc game. I am having the same issues where the texture isn't smooth as it suppose to be, and i get some serious lag times at certain part of the citites. I have the razor version of the game. Update it sevral times but still the same BS. Can any one help me out and let me know what exactly i should do. I cracked it right, updated windows live for games. And updated my Geforce 8800GTX graphic card. And i know i have a good pc cause i can play crysis smoothly with pretty much everything high.

PLEASE HELP!!

A few tips:

- Use the 180.84 drivers: http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_gtaiv_downloads.html
- Disable bloom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhSnXtIg4i8
- Use the FarClip tweak: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?act=P...&f=240&t=391989
- Use MemTurbo if you got memory leaking: http://boards.ign.com/grand_theft_auto/b...565/r175206839/
- Do this little tweak: http://www.crysis-online.com/forum/index...34463.msg501923
I've seen it on a few sites, and it apparently works for some people. I'm not sure if it did for me.

Still you have to remember that the game is pretty messed up. It even runs better on 1680x1050 resolution than on 1280x720 for me. WTF is up with that?

Some people say the game runs good, others have tons of problems, etc.

I don't know if those drivers are any better than the newest ones.

If you don't like bloom you might aswell just disable it.

If you got memory leaking, which mean that the games starts stuttering after a while, then MemTurbo is going to help you alot.

You can just test those 2 other tweaks by yourself, won't take a long time.

Thanks for replying to my questions.

Well i just tried the GTA IV MOD method, with the Magic.bat patch, and the timecycle.bat file, and it seemed to do some improvment to my GTA IV game play. Except when there is lots going on there r some slow downs. At the end of the day i would really like to play GTA IV for smoothly at all times, with no LAG issues, cause it really kills the experince.

But my question to you is that i haven't patched my GTA IV pc game yet. Main reason being cause i patched it before in my other computer and once i finished patching it with the rockstar offical patch. It screwed up my menu screen with the xbox 360 icons. And during gameplay my character kept going in 1 direction. Not sure if u went through anything like this. But should i even patch it? Would it make any big difference?

I had to reinstall the whole game after patching because I got some error when trying to start it, so now I don't have the patch installed.

I don't think it does anything to improve performance.

What processor and how much RAM do you have?
