Help with PSP games from memory stick

Please help me run cso games from my memory stick. I'm trying to make this work for my daughter but I'm not exactly a techno wiz...

I've loaded the cso games onto the memory stick after formatting it... but it does not recognize the games. I don't know what firmware is and how to install it.

Can someone help me?
