My slim ps2 model SCPH-79001 has trouble loading my swap magic 3.6 cd driver. 9 out of 10 times I get the error "The disc cannot be read." Once in a while though it does work, and after it loads my cd-r backups load and play fine. But mostly it doesn't work. A few days ago I had no problems with it. DVDs still play fine. I cleaned the disc and my ps2s laser recently and the disc seems to be in good condition. Does anybody know why it stopped working, and if there's a way to fix it?

get the fmcb, then get swapmagiccd.elf on mc
load elf with hogh toc origional game and swap as usual

what is a high toc original game? does it have to be a cd?

ps: I tried loading swapmagiccd.elf with a usb drive and my dvd swap magic and it didnt work. the laser would look for something and when it doesnt find it the screen just goes black. Would I be able to get that to work?

toc is (table of contents) or size of data on disc
not sure if there is a toc list for ps2 cd games.
to boot a ps2 backup you have to use the swap magic cd or if using the .elf file you would also have to have a cd origional in the drive.
if using swap magic to boot .elf file did you use the instructions:

How to launch:

Put the memory card in slot 1 and boot SwapMagic3.3, if the program "mc0:/SWAPMAGIC/SWAPMAGIC.ELF" is found and it will be launched automatically.

Put the memory card in slot 1/2 and boot SwapMagic3.3, if the program "mcx:/SWAPMAGIC/SMBOOT0.ELF" is found and it will be launched by key "UP+L1" press.

Put the memory card in slot 1/2 and boot SwapMagic3.3, if the program "mcx:/SWAPMAGIC/SMBOOT1.ELF" is found and it will be launched by key "UP+L2" press.

Put the memory card in slot 1/2 and boot SwapMagic3.3, if the program "mc1:/SWAPMAGIC/SMBOOT2.ELF" is found and it will be launched by key "UP+R1" press.

Put the memory card in slot 1/2 and boot SwapMagic3.3, if the program "mc1:/SWAPMAGIC/SMBOOT3.ELF" is found and it will be launched by key "UP+R2" press.

have the origional high toc game in the drive while elf is loading
