Having some frame rate issues with Nero 7 vision, transcoded the MKVs to AVI with no trouble using various mux/demux stuff, there is no issues in the AVI?s themselves so it?s a issue with nero transcoding avi to VOB, would I be better off just transcoding it to vob and letting Nero build the DVD? I love nero?s menu options so yes it must be used in making a DVD damnit :P

I tried using DVD shrink to rebuild the DVD and burn it the process changed the shuttering spots around but did not remove the shuttering?

On a side note I need black box 4:3 or TV video is there a program that lets you do this easily? Would like to put the sub titles in the lower box but I need to box the video first anything like that out there to just frame the video with not a wide screen top/bottom box but to get 4:3 content from bleeding beyond the TV screen.

Apollo has an ability to convert avi/divx/mpg to dvd. It also (My version) allows for 16:9 or 4:3 conversion. Hope this helps. VERY nice program. Apollo divx to dvd.
Hmmm... I have however noticed on SOME dvd players that appollo does something to the video (Bitrate?) that players dont like. It introduces a green/orange pixelation(short lived). however... when playing on computer, it does not do it. So... if you use appollo, than nero, you should be good. I simply use it for converting quickly small short clips to dvd for watching on the player.

To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

How well is it menu support? Nero lets me set time to play rules, put the menu on hide(basically play the film and the menu wont show until you go to it with the remote), insert videos as background image, back ground images, chapters.

Figured out by doing anime eps you can break apart a whole moive and have chapters in selectable sections instead of clogging up the whole menu with chapters.

Virtually NO menu support. It merely transcodes avi/mpg/divx/xvid to dvd compliancy (vobs) even some burn support. I believe it also converted a wmv file once. However my version is OLD. Its possible the program has stepped up considerably by now.

Ah I need nero to build the disc becuse of the menu support, just trying to figure out why its shuttering, probably a transcodding issue if so I can do it into Mpeg 2 that should help.

Do you know of any programs that allow you to but black lines around video? I need to shrink it a bit mroe to fit better on the a normal TV.

Im afraid I dont. Never had to do anything like that. Infact, at this point... Im probably never buying another dvd player. Look at replacement costs of them compared to a dvd-rom/writer!

I like to use verbatim for my media. Dr. Divx (1.06) for my conversion needs. Yes I know thats old, but the new converters of theirs I dont trust. Sync issues!!! The dr. has NEVER failed me on Several different systems. Good build I guess. Though I must admit, I shy more and more from compression. Blank media has hit such a low, that I just keep most stuff in dvd compliancy. Backed up all of my Startrek voyager collection (70Discs) NO compression (dvd-5). Though im thinking of using the dr. again to back up my brothers kids discs. They get a hold of the discs, NOT GOOD. Gonna run a media center for them. That way their discs can be tucked away. :D
