Hey there,
I've been having problems with my HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GWA4164B.

First thing is first, here are some details.

I have a Dell Dimension XPS 400 /9150 with ALL latest updates from dell.
I have the latest driver for this device.
I have all the latest BIOS and Firmwire and EVERYTHING.
I'm Running XP Professional version 2002 SP3 32-Bit [Guatemala]
There are no possible updates for me to install for it, unless i missed something.

What the actual problem is, is that My drive can READ dvd's and cd's perfectly.
the problem is i cant WRITE DVD's or CD's
When i instert a blank cd or dvd nothing happens is just says please insert a disk. I AM USING NERO 7.11.10.0

And yes i have tried over 20+ different disks of different makes, none work and all same error. I just find out I can write only cd r\w discs

Please help!

Try taking Nero off completely. Use the Nero Clean utility to completely remove it. Download Imgburn. It's free. If Imgburn won't write to the drive then there's a problem. With Nero you can't be sure.
