Hello, I have a Asus M2N VM HDMI, wich is connected (VGA) to a 19" lcd and to a 32" LG LCD TV (HDMI).
Before I got the 5.1 speakers, I used regular 2.0 speakers and used them for music gaming purposes, but when watching movies or stuff on the tv it was easier to play video and audio from the hdmi since it was all controlled by the tv remote. It was as easy as going to the Sound and Audio Devices and changing the Defaut Device from Realtek HD Audio Output to NVIDIA HDMI Audio Wave and ready to go, but since I use the 5.1 (really cool by the way), installed the Klite Codec and media player classic for mkv playback purposes, then I haven't been able to change the sonund device, at night for example, it's better for me to watch the simpsons with tv audio, beacuse I put the timer and thats it, but now when the NVIDIA HDMI AUDIO WAVE is the one "enable" windows don't play any sound at all, no videos, not mp3, no nothing.
I was thinking it was the mixer, on the ffdshow, that I set on 5.0 and lfe, so I created a new profile, and put it to 2.0 but that doesn't help at all.
Please help me, another thing, isn't there any software that make al this easier? like you can create profiles and they change everithing, because for changing the 5.1 to 2.0 I have to go to the Realtek Sound manager, set it to 2.0, then go to the Sound and Audio Devices, set the HDMI as defalut, and then ( if the codec is the problem) go to the ffdshow and change the profle from 5.1 to the one that makes HDMI sound works.
