Hi , I ve been using some TDK DVD-R s to backup data from my PC, and also for playing PS2 games on my modded PS2.
After writing them i tried out the games if they load properly, and they did, i could start a new game , save etc. I havent played these games yet, just tried em out, i took em into a DVD box for later use. After a few months i wanted to play them but my PS2 wont load em up, it always gives the red screen "Please insert original PS2(R) Disc....". These disks were written in 4x speed(lowest possible for me), and are still in perfect condition.
What could be the problem ?

Also i wrote out some of my stuff to these TDK disks, and after a year i cant get my PC to read the disk , even though i insert them in the same writer, that i used earlier to write out my stuff( im talking about 44 Gb stuff, pics, vids, lots of tools, some of my fav games).
So what am i to do now ? cant even get IsoBuster to rip off the data from the disks :/ .
I ve used these kind of DVDs before without any problem(i think xD), and they are the most common DVD s found at my local stores <.< .

It would be great if some1 could tell me what to do to recover my stuff(if theres any way), or tell me what NOT TO DO in the future to avoid getting into such situations again.

Tx for the help !

It might be because you are using TDK discs, which aren't renown for being reliable. Try using media like Verbatim or Taito Yuden on your next burn.

Tx for the reply,i ll keep that in mind ^^
i used TDK dvds most likely cuz i could get them cheap, in large amounts(some1 would say "cheap dvd bad dvd" but no, the price in the shops are same for TDK and Verbatim alike, its just i get the TDK dvd s from elsewere ;) )
Maybe i should invest in external HDD(s) ? would that be safer ? O.o
