Converting VC-1 bluray, need help

I have found myself with this same problem over and over again. When i convert VC-1, i get a flash or what looks to be a grey frame when i playback the finished movie. Almost a shutter effect. I've done VC-1 to h264, VC-1 to mpeg2, and VC-1 to Xvid. I still get the same results. Any idea of what causes this? Any help will be the coolest.
