hi does anyone have advice on the best option for a home cinema system that wont break the bank? im using ps3 as bluray player

two options available i think would be to connect my ps3
1. to a cinema system such as the Sony HT-SS1300 5.1
or
2. invest in an av receiver and speakers( onkyo and jamo/ kef speakers)

will the sony system do the same job for me as option 2 since it decodes the hd surround sound and outputs it to the speakers or is option 2 better and if so why?
