I own an XBR4. AFAIK, the ONLY 32" Sony that actually has a 1080 panel is the XBR6. ALl of the other Sony 32" only have a 720 pixel panel (including the XBR4). The Sony accepts a 1080 signal and interpolates to the 720p panel.
At 32" I'd doubt that you'd notice the difference. I have a Sony Blu-Ray player hooked up to my XBR4 outputting at 1080p and it looks Great!!!!
So, if you want true 1080p in a Sony 32" your only choice is the XBR6.

Hi,
make sure it has a 120 Hz refresh rate, or you will be buying an outdated model.

TBH i never heard of the XBR6, It sound's like a great t.v but it also sounds expensive. I Was looking at the 32V4500 HD Ready bravia With 24p true cinema 3 HDMI & 33.000:1 contrast ratio. It's reasonably priced but is it good enough for Blu-Ray & S*Y HD? If not what HD Ready bravia would u recommend cos i think the 1080p is just out of my price range! Cheers Guys

The 32V4500 is a UK only model and is comparable to the
It IS NOT native 1080p
Display Resolution (Pixels) 1366 x 768 (3.1 Mega Pixels)
The UK equivalent of the XBR series in the US appears to be the W serioes.
The KDL-32W4000 has a Display Resolution (Pixels) 1920 x 1080 (6.2 Mega Pixels).
That having been said, i am perfectly happy with my XBR4 which only has a 1366 x 768 pixel panel but does have a 120Hz refresh rate and is comparable to the 32V4500 that you are looking at.

Ive seen the 32V4500 in the shops here it looks pretty good, reasonably priced to at 675euro I no it's not native 1080p but i heard that on a 32inch screen that you'll hardly notice the diff between the two formats 720p/1080p? Whats your take on this? if i go for a 1080p its probably going to cost me about 300 - 400euro More so i was thinking is it worth paying that much more? cos' that 300 could get me a pretty good sound system. I looked up reviews on the V4500 & all was good not a mention of motion problems.

My personal opnion is at 32" or less a 720 panel is fine.
At 42" or larger a 1080 panel is a must.
I have not looked seriously at 37" so I can't advise there.
All I can say is that I'm very happy with my XBR4 (720 panel but accepts 1080p inputs and supports 120Hz).

Im loyal to sony everything i ever bought was sony & i never had any complaints. Im seriously considering the V4500 but im slighty worried about motion problems even though this was never an issue in the reviews i was looking at. It will be used alot for gaming and watching BLU-RAY. What do you think of the v series?

I've read a few reviews on the v series, seem to get good ratings.
I don't think you'll have any problems with it.
