Ive ordered an asrock 4coredual and ill have to buy a new core2duo later on to afford it, but for the time being, will the Intel Celeron D 2.80GHz Single core CPu work on it?

and if it does, would it speed up my computer a little without the core2duo until i get one? because if it doesnt speed it up ill just keep it in its box until i get the new cpu, because my current old acer mobo is only using ddr yet this one will run ddr2 would that speed it up?

thanks!! :)

won't speed up being you are using the same cpu off old board. won't work at all till you get ddr2 ram unless that board has both ddr & ddr2 slots.

He could potentially already have DDR2 RAM with a Celeron D, surely?

Depends, 65C isn't great, but as long as it doesn't go any higher, it's acceptable. My bad for not reading your post properly :(

hey sammoris im talking to you with the nintendo wii browser!!!

the closest i got it was when i got to windows, for some reason it was loading the slowest ever, and when i opened IE it closed after about 3 secs. i just installed windows fresh and thers no viruses what could it be? pleaaase help me!! thanks! :)

Windows XP off the bat is horrifically insecure. Always install at least Service Pack 2 and Antivirus software BEFORE you go browsing.
